Thanksgiving is about the only time we get a chance to really get away and wind down. Each January we do get to go to a convention or two, but that isn't really getting away. Most Thanksgivings we travel to see Chance's mom's family at St. Simons Island. A few years ago we went exploring hidden spots on Jekyll, Island. Some days I will get up early to try to find birds to photograph. This year I wanted to photograph birds again, and hopefully find one of the islands bald eagles. Our first location didn't pan out for us and left us a little disappointed. Our second stop made up for it in more ways than one. We parked at Driftwood beach and walked up the Clam Creek Trail and looped around and back to the car. On the way we saw many different birds and heard a couple loud screeches, we turned around to see two bald eagles in a tree behind us. We stayed and photographed them for a while and talked to other people as they passed by. Our only problem was we had lunch plans in Brunswick and let time get away from us. After lunch we did make a second visit to find the nest which was huge! On this trip out I was able to get one image of Chance, and it is one of my favorites.
I hope you enjoy seeing these, we had a great time photographing them.
