How much is a portrait?
This is a question we hear all the time and the easy answer is that it isn't as much as some people tell you it is going to be. Truthfully, we have heard that most people ask that question because they don't know what else to ask. This hopefully, will help answer some of those questions.
"How much is it going to cost?" is a loaded question and one that is hard to answer. It is sort of like calling a builder and asking how much a house costs or calling a grocery store and asking how much groceries will cost. Not knowing upfront what you want and need makes it nearly impossible to answer the question. "Is it more than Wal-Mart charges?", well if you ask that the answer is yes - but look around America at any business, that has survived Wal-Mart coming into town. Who is cheaper than Wal-Mart? The big thing is this - you can buy as much as you want or as little as you want. We have clients who come in and spend $3000 or more and we have clients who spend less than $200, but everyone gets what they want. We never know how much you will spend. That being said, our portraits are available individually or in packages - and we have 7 different packages and even more different items you can use to customize your order. One thing to remember is that you are not buying a gallon of milk or a pound of lunch meat, unlike those your portraits will still be hanging in your home for years to come.
Also, as the parent of a daughter who graduated in 2009 and one who graduated in 2013, we know something about being a parent too. We see first hand how important our daughter's portraits are every day when we walk down the hall to the kitchen and look at there portraits on the wall. With them being married and adults now, we realize just how short those years were that they were in our house and in our lives every day. Those things have changed forever. Our portraits of our girls are our most cherished possessions. Whatever you do, wherever you go, please don't underestimate the importance of this time in your child's life and having portraits to remember it by.
